This topic was raised Nick Cassella in his piece about salary transparency and the cost to companies and the economy – an interesting and worthy read. The general premise is that one could earn more by simply being more informed by asking your way into it – in this case your co-worker. Being informed and knowledgeable about your market worth is what Paysa is all about. We hear from users that they get on average a 15% raise increase by doing the research and having the conversation. Further, it is worth noting that most recruiters and hiring managers will tell you that you should be armed with salary data during your discussion/negotiation regarding compensation, otherwise, you run the risk of getting less than you deserve and finding out later (by asking your co-worker).
Here we created a quick poll of 4 questions for our Paysa users and readers. See the results at the end of the survey.
Have you asked your co-worker what they make?
